Week 2 NFL Picks

Alrighty!!  Let's see if I can get some of these picks right...  Time's short today so I'm just going to make some picks but if I have some time later this weekend, I'll add my 2 cents to each game!!

1) PACKERS (-13) over Bills - Yeah!  Although, this was probably this biggest no-brainer of the group!
2) Dolphins (+5.5) over VIKINGS - Yeah!!  I take personal pleasure knowing that Favre starts his season 0-2, hopefully ending in 6-Helpless!
3) Cards (+6.5) over FALCONS - Um, wow, nm.  I totally blew this!
4) Ravens (-2.5) over BENGALS - Split decision - I hate being wrong but I love it when the Bengals put the beatdown on a division rival (or any rival for that matter!)
5) Chiefs (+2) over BROWNS - Yeah!!!  The Browns are just sad.
6) Bears (+7.5) over COWBOYS - Another split decision - I LOVE being right but hate it when it means that Jay Cutler has done well!
7) Steelers (+5) over TITANS - Holy wow.  This game sucked for the Titans.  Like U-G-L-Y.  The Titans had NO alibi!!
8) PANTHERS (-3.5) over Buccaneers - Bummer.  But, neither team inspires me.  I don't mind being wrong here.

As of 3:30 PM on Sunday:  Current Week (W-L-T): 5-3-0; Current Season (W-L-T): 5-3-0

9) LIONS (+6.5) over Eagles - Woot!!!  I'm adding one more win to my score...

As of 3:40 PM on Sunday:  Current Week (W-L-T): 6-3-0; Current Season (W-L-T): 6-3-0

10) BRONCOS (-3.5) over Seahawks
11) Rams (+3.5) over RAIDERS
12) Jaguars (+7) over CHARGERS
13) Texans (-3) over REDSKINS
14) Giants (+5) over COLTS
15) Patriots (-3) over JETS
16) Saints (-5) over NINERS

Post-Week 1 NFL Predictions & Comments

If I had only gotten the head start I promised myself, these predictions would have come before the beginning of the season so that you could revel in my knowledge!  But, because I was a procrastinator, I am now left to surmise about the remaining 16 weeks of the season & I'll use some of what I learned yesterday to help organize my pronouncements!

1)  Wow!!!  Did the Bengals stink or what yesterday?  My first question for the season:  Are the Bengals really THAT bad or are the Patriots really totally awesome?  While a true fan may hope for the latter, I have some mixed emotions w/ that vote.  Ugh...  just picturing another year of Tom Brady & his team dominating the NFL conversation.  Pass, unless Randy Moss has something more to say!

2) Wow, Part Deux!!  Are the Titans THAT great or are the Raiders just that awful?  Based upon what I saw yesterday, I think both are true.  I really feel for Jason Campbell.  If the O-line doesn't shore up its numerous issues, that man will be in a body brace by the 3rd week of the season.

3) I've gone from being totally amused to being totally annoyed by Rex Ryan's J.E.T.S JETS JETS JETS JETS. Not helping my change in position is the harassment underwent by the report from TV Azteca recently.  While the behavior was pretty mild, it just makes me feel icky even saying anything nice about the Jets.  And yes, I'm still a little bitter about them walking over the Bengals in Week 17 & the Wild Card game last year.  PS - Mark Sanchez is not that attractive.  Please, everyone, stop saying this.

4) Brett Favre is going to have a long, LONG year.  It's going to be terrible, horrible, no good, very bad in probably most ways.  I hate that he's back (no real surprise) but I especially hate his arrival.  He comes back, passive-aggressively (is that a word?) announcing that he's not sure he should be there & that his ankle may not be 100%.  Two built-in excuses for the ready when he starts to stink up the joint.  Or should I say continues to stink up the joint?  Thursday's game showed that he's not quite ready for Prime Time & I doubt that he'll improve my opinion much.

I think I'm going to start picking games each week with the over/under line.  Now, I need to learn how to read such a line!!

New Blog, Same Me!!

So, I've moved....  If you are reading this, then you've found my new home!  I faithfully contributed to my old blog for a very long time (at least, by my standards).  Then, in short order, I met Michael, fell in love, married him & now sit here pregnant with our first child.  I have no idea why I think I'll have MORE time to contribute to a blog with all of this in my life, but I'm willing to give it a shot!!

As readers of my old blog can tell you, my blogs encompass a little bit of everything.  Expect to see posts about my family, sports (especially NFL) & just the randomness that is life!

On with the show!!
